If you are of black African-Caribbean descent/heritage, the statistics tell us that you are 30% more likely to die from prostate cancer. So you have a three-fold greater risk of prostate cancer than white men and are more likely to encounter prostate cancer at a younger age.
Fortunately, within the Leeds area, there is a community organisation that offers assistance to this specific group. That is the Black Health Initiative (BHI). Do have a look at their website and get in touch for more information. They also deal with men’s health in general and offer support in many different ways.
